Japanese Style Hamburg
| I am going to make Japanese Style Hamburg tonight. This is definitely one of my most favorite dishes. I am sure you might think of this as something similar to meat loaf I would hope this is not the case. If you ever go to Japan heading to Bikuri donnki restaurant would be a good time for most. | |
The Ingredients for the meat: | The Ingredients for the sauce: 1/4 cup of beef stock 213 ml of tomato sauce 2 tbsp vinegar 1/4 cup of bull dog tonkatsu sauce 2 tbsp of soy sauce 2 tbsp of sugar 1 tbsp parsley 1/2 an onion A couple of white mushrooms 1 pack of Shineji Mushrooms 1/2 a celery stock 1 tbsp of Worcester sauce 1/4 of a green pepper |
| OK I am going to start with the meat. Chop the onion, mushroom, green pepper, celery and grad the carrot. Place this in a large bowl with the meat, pannko, Worcester sauce, tonnkatsu sauce, salt, lemon pepper and eggs. (if you do not have or know what tonkatsu sauce is you can look here) | |
| Mix the ingredients well. Now I am making a lot as we freeze it and use for our child's school lunches and what have you. I am using 1 kg of beef to match the ingredients in this recipe. | |
| With that I made 9, 100 gram patties and about 25, 30 gram meat balls. | |
| Next I am going to make the sauce. Chop your parsley, green pepper and celery. Slice your onions and white mushrooms and separate your shinneji mushrooms. | |
| In a bowl mix the beef stock, tomato sauce, tonnkatsu sauce, sugar and Worcester sauce | |
| Fry the vegetables in some oil. then remove from the fry pan. | |
| Fry the patties till they are cooked | |
| Pour the sauce over the patties till covered, then add the the vegetables. Mix this well making sure everything is covered. Simmer this over med heat for about 10 Min's turning the patties over every once and a while. | |
| And there you have it Japanese Style Hamburg. Now I will cook all the meat balls with this sauce and freeze them. they make great meat ball sandwiches and are easy for lunch boxes | |
I hope you can enjoy this post and delicious recipe.
